Agencies & partners

Before you hire another agency, ask this question

One question separates a partner who diagnosed your situation from one who matched you to what they already sell.

Every proposal received so far recommends exactly what that partner specialises in.

The question

"Under what circumstances would you tell us not to do this?"

A partner with a diagnosis can answer immediately and specifically. A partner selling a package will answer in generalities, or explain why the circumstances do not apply to you.

Why proposals converge

Agencies are structured around capability. That structure is efficient, and it quietly biases the recommendation before the first call. It is not dishonesty; it is gravity.

Your defence is to ask for the reasoning, not the deliverables — and to check whether the reasoning could have produced a different answer.

What a good answer sounds like

It names the evidence they would need, what it would take to change their mind, and the point at which spending more would be the wrong call. Including for them.
